Professional stuff

I work on Digital Strategy for the Library of Congress, and I recently concluded a stint as Acting Chief of the Digital Innovation Division at the Library of Congress (better known as LC Labs).

Before that I was the first Managing Director of the IIIF Consortium.

Prior to that, I worked at the New York Public Library, as Deputy Director of NYPL Labs, and as Associate Director of Digital Policy, among other roles.

Code and data

Most of what gets written up here recently has data behind it, and I try to post those things openly and publicly whenever and wherever possible:

• GitHub — pipelines, scripts, CSVs, site code, etc.
• Hugging Face — datasets extracted from digitized collections, and some fine-tuned models I have been playing with.
